Javier Ramirez

He was born in Chacas, in 1974. He graduated from San Juan Bosco School of Arts and Crafts, located in the andean city of Chacas, Ancash. This school, nationally known for low income students is administered by Italian Salesian priests.

In this school he learned the woodcarving art. In his work he represents scenery of the daily life in the andes as well as religious subjects.

He works mainly in cedar and mahogany wood.

In spite of his young age, he is the winner of various awards in his specialty and in spite of his busy schedule, he finds time to teach his art to the students of San Juan Bosco School, with no monetary compensation.
