Unique garments in the world

Currently, Peru is ranked as the most important producer of textile of South American Camelids fibers. The garments made from these fibers are highly quoted worldwide due to their high quality, softness and appearance.

The South American Camelid is the only one of it´s kind. This type of animal, also known as Auquenidos, can live in very cold places (15 to 20 below zero degrees Celcuis : 60 - 68 below zero degress Fahrenheit ) and at 4500 masl (14,800 feet above sea level). The Vicuña and the Guanaco are wild animals, but the Alpaca and the Llama can be domesticated and are considered an important economic resource.

The largest population of Alpacas is in Peru. Its most valuable thread is called Royal Baby Alpaca, the Vicuña has the finest fiber and the Guanaco comes second to them, however, is not competitive due to the scarcity of these animals.
